I’m Alec, and welcome to my blog. Since my first time traveling I knew that it’d be something I’d pursue for the rest of my life, so I decided to leave behind my “normal” life in pursuit of a lifestyle that would allow me to explore the world. This blog serves to chronicle my experiences as I travel abroad! Whether it serves as a guide to others, or just a chronicle for my future-self, I intend on sharing as much as I can.
Why I Travel
Throughout my life I always had a hard time sitting still. I always felt most comfortable when I was being exposed to new challenges and experiencing new things. I graduated college with a degree in Music; this was a great experience that was both rewarding and immensely enjoyable, but it left something to be desired in regards to a “life-trajectory”. I found myself working jobs that where easy, fun, and provided a very decent lifestyle – but were ultimately unfulfilling. This is what ultimately led me to the decision to quit my job, sell my stuff, and begin traveling. I’m traveling with no real end date, and plan on making a living while traveling through teaching, freelance design, and whatever else I can come up with!
More About Me
I’ve spent almost all of my 20-something years of life in the great state of Kentucky, and will always consider it my home. I am an avid musician (I play saxophone, piano, DJ, and produce). I’ve also been working in graphic design for the past 8 years.
I am always in search of delicious food, good coffee, and a nice book.
If you’d like to listen to my music you can find me on Bandcamp.
