Getting Vaccinated in Thailand

hospitalFor those considering an extended trip to Thailand, it may be a good idea to consider getting your vaccines here.

Before traveling overseas you'll need certain vaccinations. For Thailand it is recommended that one get Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Japanese Encephalitis, and Hepatitis B. As those of us from the west are aware (specifically America) the cost of even getting simple vaccinations can be outrageous. For the price of just ONE of these vaccinations in America, I was able to get all of them done (aside from Hep B, which I had done as a child) here in Thailand.

The clinic I went to was called Health Care Medical Clinic, located in Chiang Mai. This clinic serves as one of the premiere travel clinics in Chiang Mai. When I called to make an appointment they were able to get me in on the same day. All of the staff was incredibly friendly and spoke perfect English. The facility was small, but very modern and clean. After the typical routine of getting my vitals taken, the doctor sat and spoke with me about what all vaccines I already had, how long I'd be in Thailand, and where I'd be traveling. After that I got my shots and was ready to go. The whole visit took about 30 minutes, and best of all it only cost $100!!! I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone in the area, and I'd also say that getting your vaccines done in Thailand is certainly worth considering.
